UN Women Webinar: Introduction to Disaster Risk Reduction for Women-Led CSOs

Fega Ayu Pangestika, S.Psi., one of CARI!’s disaster management analysts was invited to speak on a webinar titled Introduction to Disaster Risk Reduction for Women-Led CSOs hosted by UN Women on February 28, 2023. In this webinar, she spoke about the key normative frameworks for gender and disaster risk reduction, such as the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, General Recommendation No. 37 (2018) of the Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), the Commission on the Status of Women, and more. 

She also talked about the key challenges and opportunities regarding gender and disaster risk reduction and the commitments made by the Gender Stakeholder Group. She also explained the review result of research publications on women’s participation in disaster risk reduction in Indonesia, which was published in the February 2023 edition of the Indonesia Disaster Knowledge Update.
