CARI! is supporting the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) in developing a Guideline for the Development of Disaster-safe Tourism Destinations (Pedoman Pengembangan Destinasi Pariwisata Aman Bencana).

As part of this initiative, a concept will be developed for the development of disaster-safe tourism destinations and will serve as a reference to increase tourism resilience as well as a basis to develop disaster management programs for the tourism sector, ensuring a wonderful and sustainable future for Indonesia.

Activities that are expected to be done through this initiative are: 1) Formulation of knowledge-based tourism resilience concepts and tools through knowledge.caribencana.id, 2) Profiling of the level of risk and resilience of the tourism chains in selected Super Priority Destinations (DSPs), 3) Integration of the concept and the results of the resilience levels of DSPs and their chains into the Sisparnas Dashboard System, and 4) Capacity building for understanding risk, preparedness, and crisis management of tourism stakeholders and related actors.
