Abstrak

Tsunami disaster has potential to cause a lot of casualties and huge material losses, especially in densely populated areas located on coast such as Padang City, West Sumatera Province. Therefore research of modeling of damage and impact of tsunami disaster is very much needed as  a reference by government in making decisions on policies related to spatial planning. In this study, tsunami disaster in Padang City was modeled with 3 elevations of sea lecel rise in coastline. Then a decrease in height of water is obstructed by land use. To find out the exposed area used Cost-Distance analysis. Damage indicator calculated is number of buildings, size of agricultural sector and number of effected people. The results of each modeling have different impacts. Modeling of 5 meter water shows affected area of 390,13 hektare, 1.259 units of building, 67,08 hektare of agriculture and 3.637 effected people. Modeling of 11 meter water rise shows affected area of 8.447,85 hektare, 61.091 unit of buildings, 3.583,75 hektare of agriculture and 324.579 effected people. Modeling of 15 meter water rise shows effected area of 11.543,49 hektare, 98.809 unit of buildings, 4.920,88 hektare of agriculture and 579.432 effected people. Show More
